Santander pilots MoneySuperMarket’s remortgage platform

Santander has started piloting MoneySuperMarket’s digital comparison-to-completion remortgage journey for mortgage customers.

The journey is on its Podium platform, the price comparison website’s newremortgage proposition. MoneySuperMarket customers can now access Santander products on this platform.

Andy Hancock, chief customer officer, MoneySuperMarket Group, said: “It’s really exciting to be able to welcome Santander onto our remortgage platform - this is a great milestone in our ambition to transform the digital mortgage experience for our customers.

“With Nationwide’s pilot live, discussions progressing with other lenders and two leading broker partners integrated, we are building real momentum in our strategy todeliver the first digitised comparison-to-completion mortgage switching experience for our customers, with a new level of choice, control and transparency.”

James Sadler, co-founder and director of strategy at Podium, added:“It is great to work with Santander in the Product Transfer and Remortgage market, and we look forward to further developments.

“Podium is leading the way with lender integrations and at the forefront of building new innovative digital consumer experiences.”

Existing Santander mortgage holders can complete an execution-only product transfer should they wish to stay with the lender.

Additionally, customers looking to move their mortgage to Santander from a different lender can now do so through the MoneySuperMarket platform.

Graham Sellar, head of mortgage business development, Santander, said:“We know that each customer is different in the way that they like to shop for their mortgage.

“We’re pleased to be partnering with MoneySuperMarket to bring existing Santander mortgage products to those customers who use the price comparison site to help them find the best mortgage for their needs.”

Santander’s launch on MoneySuperMarket follows Nationwide’s product transfer pilot on the platform in May this year.

The MoneySuperMarket comparison platformaims to remove some of the pain points associated with traditional mortgage applications, by improving the qualification and eligibility aspects of the search process and giving customers personalised mortgage product options relevant to their search.

The journey starts by helping the customer to identify the specific mortgage options available to them and will help them to understand and compare the true cost and other non-price features of those mortgages.

Customers can then engage with a mortgage broker or lender for financial advice or go direct to lender to complete their transaction.

MoneySuperMarket Group has partnered with mortgage brokers L&C Mortgages and Fluent Mortgages, to provide support to customers looking for advice on their mortgage journey.
