Rob McCoy, senior product manager at Sesame Bankhall Group, is leaving the business after 19 years.

McCoy (pictured) started on the mortgage desk before moving into marketing, rising to marketing manager and then becoming a product manager.

Writing on Linkedin, he said: “Well today marks the end of an era for me as I leave SBG after 19 years. Best of luck to all my colleagues at PMS in Birmingham on the mortgage desk and the field based staff.

“Many thanks to the account managers, business development mangers, marketing and product teams at the lenders over the last 19 years it’s been a blast!

“Sun Sea and Sand is calling me for the next few weeks, not forgetting the odd tipple or two.

“So here's to the future and what every that may hold.”

McCoy joined life company Commercial Union in 1997 which later became part of Norwich Union Life.

The Norwich Union mortgage club was purchased by Bankhall in 2004 and with it went McCoy, who was made product and communications manager at PMS until becoming senior product and communications manager in 2010.

John Malone, who worked alongside McCoy as managing director of PMS, said: “Rob was a very calming influence behind the scenes and I found working with him a real pleasure.

“You could perceive me as being slightly gung-ho but Rob would always bring me back down to reality.

“He was a very solid, consistent and reliable colleague and I always valued his input and support.

“He was a very good marketer and tech savvy.”

Though it’s understood McCoy plans to spend more time with his family, Malone felt a mortgage distributor or lender would do well to get him on board.

Malone added: “Being in the Midlands there are lots of opportunities; lots of distributors and lenders.

“An organisation where somebody goes on maternity leave might need someone like Rob to go in two or three days a week.

“However I think he’ll firstly take a bit of time out.”
