FSE Manchester presents Steve Backley

He will be joined by over 60 exhibitors including lenders, distributors, networks, insurance providers and technology companies at The Emirates Old Trafford, which overlooks the pitch at Lancashire County Cricket Club.

Former GB athlete Steve Backley will provide a keynote address at Financial Services Expo Manchester on 18 May.

In the javelin event Backley won seven gold medals, three world records, two Olympic silver medals and one bronze before retiring in 2004.

He will be joined by over 60 exhibitors including lenders, distributors, networks, insurance providers and technology companies at The Emirates Old Trafford, which overlooks the pitch at Lancashire County Cricket Club.

Backley said: “Fundamentals like taking action, being creative, understanding core values (and aligning them) along with creative, unequivocal self-belief are key to ensuring you bring your best self to your chosen role as an adviser.

“Sustaining high performance is what I have admired most in sport - and those in business who succeed possess similar characteristics too; they retain a passion and a clarity as to what they are striving for and are relentless in pursuit of what they truly want.

“In my presentation I will cover the non-negotiable aspects of high achievement ensuring that you too can enjoy a high and renewable level of success.”

FSE Manchester will feature seminar presentations put together by the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI) and Financial Reporter, while there will be a separate theatre run by Shawbrook.

Nationwide Building Society corporate account manager Simon Cradock will cover ‘Economic essentials – what’s the current state of the UK mortgage market?’

There will be a second charge panel with Roger Morris from Precise Mortgages, Rob Jupp from Brightstar, Adrian Maloney from OneSavings Bank and Gary Bailey from Together.

Mortgages for Business managing director David Whittaker will talk buy-to-let while Jonny Timpson at Scottish Widows and Uinsure director of sales Jason Berry will cover protection.

Key Retirement technical director Dean Mirfin will also present on retirement lending and advice.

James Prosser, managing director of Front Events, said: “FSE Manchester 2016 is shaping up to be the biggest event we have held in Manchester since we launched the event back in 2014.

“Since then we have grown considerably and not only do we now have over 60 exhibitors but our seminar theatre as well as the Shawbrook Academy.

“We have a particularly strong programme of seminars this year and are delighted to be welcoming former Olympic athlete, Steve Backley OBE, to FSE Manchester where he will be holding a session designed to both inform and inspire.”

He added: “FSE Manchester will bring the entire North West advisory community together and we have a wealth of seminar and exhibitor benefits to provide a particularly fulfilling day for all who make their way to The Emirates – Old Trafford. We are looking forward to May 18th.”
