Ex-Treasury comms chief joins Dashly

A former Treasury communications chief has been appointed as head of communications and external affairs at mortgage evaluation and switching platform Dashly.

Lucy Mundy led the government’s tax, savings, and investment communications, and joins Dashly to oversee its news output to business and consumer audiences, devise its strategic campaigns, and advise and lead on stakeholder engagement, including lobbying government and regulatory bodies.

The appointment comes as Dashly onboards a pipeline of brokers and customers, including a recent successful partnership with Paradigm Mortgage Services.

Mundy previously worked in central government as head of the UK’s tax communications, and also held roles in Downing Street and the Department of Health, as well as working in corporate communications agencies.

She will take up the post in June, and will lead Dashly’s 'Finance For Good' communications strategy, which includes campaigns to save UK mortgage holders a collective £5.3bn, as well as raising awareness of green mortgages and the benefits for consumers.

Dashly’s senior team has recently been bolstered by the appointments of Salma Kalisvaart, a former JPMorgan investment banker, now chief operating officer, and Iain Swatton, who was a director at both Connells and Countrywide and is now head of intermediaries.

Mundy said: “Some of the most fulfilling and important work I’ve done has been about behaviour change - from running the national flu vaccination campaign to launching the sugar tax and the Lifetime ISA.

“That’s why it’s such a privilege to lead the crusade to save mortgage holders money, and promote the importance of financial advice in a truly innovative fintech environment.

“Dashly encapsulates everything that’s great about Fintech and scale-up culture but with clear goals and big ambition - and I’m really lucky that this also includes a thoroughly nice and talented bunch of people.”

Ross Boyd, CEO of Dashly, said: “We’re thrilled to have someone of Lucy’s calibre at Dashly.

"Her experience at the heart of government, combined with her background in financial communications made her the ideal candidate for this role.

“We’re going places - and our communications and stakeholder engagement strategies will be central to the company’s growth.

"Now that we have a significant customer base and strong affiliates within the broker community, our task now is about convincing government and lenders.

"Lucy couldn’t have joined at a better time."
