Theresa May opened The Northview Group’s headquarters in Maidenhead on Friday.

The home secretary attended a grand opening ceremony at the group’s offices in Ascot House.

The group operates the mortgage lending brands Kensington Mortgage Company and New Street Mortgages, and the mortgage servicing business Acenden.

May said: “I am very pleased to officially open The Northview Group’s new headquarters and officially bring together the three parts of this business.

“I have been learning about the business this morning and it is always good to see another company coming to Maidenhead, with its great talent pool, location and transport links.”

The Northview Group has already moved around 450 employees from Reading and High Wycombe to Ascot House in Maidenhead and plans to employ 100 more people in the coming months.

Amany Attia, chief executive at The Northview Group, said: “Today is a terrific opportunity to take a step back and reflect on how our efforts fit a bigger picture and dovetail with some of the Government’s own aspirations.

“At The Northview Group, we have clear objectives to offer choice to customers who may have limited options, to simplifying and demystify the mortgage process and to provide great customer service. In doing this, we are able to provide competition to traditional lenders, more choice for consumers and ultimately more opportunity for hard working individuals and families to realise their ambitions of homeownership.

"We have had a chance to discuss some of our plans already this morning and how, by helping more people to achieve homeownership, we can also create more opportunity for people to develop their careers. We have already employed 30 new people from the local area and we are looking to employ up to 100 more this year.”
