Pepper Money has hired Steve Mannakee (pictured) from Aldermore as regional development manager for East London and the South East.

He will be responsible for working with brokers and specialist distribution partners in the region to help them place more of their interesting cases with Pepper.

Rob Barnard, sales director of Pepper Money, said: “I worked with Steve for seven years at Aldermore and he's a really passionate guy who understands what an important role a good development manager has in helping intermediaries to place their interesting cases.

“He is tenacious and always works hard for the broker – I am really looking forward to working with him at Pepper Money.”

Mannakee has 20 years’ experience in financial services, with roles at HSBC, Lambeth Building Society, C&G and, most recently, Aldermore, where he was a regional sales manager.

Mannakee said: “Pepper is making a real impact in the specialist market, with its ‘what you see is what you get’ approach to mortgage lending.
