New MD for ARLA

Cox has a strong policy and stakeholder engagement background, having held previous senior policy roles at the NLA and the International Union of Property Owners (UIPI).

As a trained barrister, he worked as a Crown Court clerk before acting as parliamentary advisor to a well-known backbench MP.

On appointment of the role, Cox said: “I am delighted to be joining ARLA and look forward to applying the experience and knowledge gained at UIPI and NLA to ensure continued success for its membership and the lettings industry.

“It is an exciting time for the lettings industry and I will work hard to ensure ARLA’s voice is heard across the policy, media and broader business sphere.”

Mark Hayward, current Managing Director of NAEA, added: “We had some excellent applicants for the role, but all agreed that David was the right person for the job.

“I look forward to working with David over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition and that the highest standards to our membership are maintained.”

Also confirmed today was the appointment of Michael Finn MBE as executive chairman of NFoPP, a newly-created role to facilitate the running of the NFoPP Board and provide strategic counsel to the organisation.

Finn was an Equity Partner in Drivers Jonas for 22 years and a past president of RICS, Building Surveying Division and is immediate past chairman of the government’s Building Regulations Advisory Committee.
