Introducing #Hunt

Paul Hunt is a marketing consultant who left Countrywide after nine years in September 2017

Welcome to the first post in my blog, in which I aim to provide quick marketing tips, commentary on industry topics from a marketing standpoint and anything else that I think may be relevant to help you (the mortgage broker) acquire new customers or retain existing ones.

Whether you have 100+ consultants or are a one man band, you still face many of the same issues and with multiple challenges on a variety of fronts, marketing could make the difference between you and the broker down the road, on the phone or on a search engine.

I strongly believe that face-to-face advice will be the preferred option for most customers, which makes your role just as important as it ever has.

As in the industry I have just left (estate agency), digital will have an impact on customer behaviour (it is already for those that have seen and used Atom Bank's proposition) and so it's important that you use digital channels to your advantage too and this can be achieved for little cost.

Outside of this blog, I'm really keen to interact with you on Twitter and feel free to send me your best and worst examples of mortgage marketing, as I'd like to highlight good and bad (I may save blushes by making these anonymous)! My twitter handle is @ilikefjords42 – don't ask, although I am sure some of you will guess what this refers to.

Finally, I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank Countrywide for an amazing nine years and I wish the business every success for the future.
