The Nottingham expands BDM team with double appointment

Nottingham Building Society has strengthened its business development team with two new business development manager (BDM) appointments.

The mutual has added Avril Dugdale (pictured left) as a BDM covering the North East region and Rachel Bridle (pictured right) as a BDM focusing on the South of England.

Dugdale joins The Nottingham with a wealth of experience within the mortgage sector, having previously held the same position at Zephyr Homeloans, Virgin Money, and most recently, Pepper Money UK. Prior to that, she was a mortgage and protection adviser at Halifax and Reeds Rains.

Bridle, meanwhile, joins the building society from MORTGAGE 4 YOU Ltd, where she worked as a mortgage advisor for the past six years. She has also previously held roles at both Nationwide Building Society and TSB Bank.

Both Dugdale and Bridle, who are expected to play a key role in supporting brokers in their assigned regions, will report to The Nottingham’s national sales manager, Matt Kingston.

This latest recruitment follow quickly after the recent appointments of Jennifer Curry as BDM covering the North West and Rebecca Haith as telephone BDM.

“We’re delighted to welcome both Rachel and Avril to The Nottingham as we continue to grow our BDM team,” Kingston said. “They are fantastic hires, and I’m really pleased to welcome them to the team.

“Both join with a wealth of experience within the mortgage sector, and I look forward to working with them as we continue to provide brilliant support to our intermediaries, whom I would encourage to reach out to learn about the great things that are happening at The Nottingham.”

Commenting on her appointment, Dugdale said she was excited to be joining Nottingham Building Society at this time of growth.

“With my wealth of knowledge within financial services, I am looking forward to this fantastic opportunity to build great relationships, where my brokers have the confidence to know I will help to support them to get the right outcomes for their clients,” Dugdale stated. “Playing my part in ensuring that we build on this success and provide an exceptional service that is tailored to the needs of our brokers and have the needs of our customers at the heart of everything we do.”

Bridle added that she, too, was delighted to be joining The Nottingham as the business development manager for the southern region.

“Having been a mortgage broker for the past six years, I understand the importance of being able to have someone I can turn to and talk through a case,” she said. “The role as field BDM will put a face to The Nottingham across the South, further promoting all the society has to offer.

“I am excited to meet brokers and establish strong, long-lasting relationships, supporting them in assisting their clients to buy their own homes.”

The Nottingham, which reported increased mortgage lending and pre-tax profit in 2022, looks to further expand its growing BDM team to continue building longstanding and trusting relationships with its intermediary partners.
