Mortgage professionals urged to complete mental health survey

The Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter (MIMHC) is again inviting those working across the UK mortgage and property finance sector to participate in its research, as it has extended the deadline for its annual mental health and wellbeing survey by one week, from today to next Friday, July 11.

Now in its fifth year, the anonymous survey collects insight into the mental health experiences of professionals across the industry, including brokers, administrators, lenders, business development managers and senior management. The findings are used to guide future wellbeing initiatives and help organisations assess and improve how they support staff.

“We’ve seen fantastic levels of engagement already – but we know that June has been a particularly busy month and many have not had the chance to take part,” said Jason Berry, co-founder of the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter and director at Crystal Specialist Finance.

“By extending the deadline, we’re making sure more voices can be heard. The insights we gain from this survey are instrumental in driving meaningful change across the sector.”

The survey takes less than five minutes to complete and is open to all professionals working within the UK mortgage and property finance industry. Responses are confidential, and the results will be published in aggregate later this year to help firms benchmark their approach to mental health and wellbeing.

MIMHC is a not-for-profit organisation established by seven founding firms and supported by a growing number of signatories. It promotes a six-point charter of best-practice wellbeing standards and offers practical guidance for companies to develop and tailor support for their teams.
