New integration allows brokers to streamline property surveys

Conveyancing panel manager Movin Legal has expanded its offerings with the introduction of a Digital Home Survey service, launched in partnership with Legal & General.
The new feature allows brokers to order property surveys at the instruction stage, aiming to improve efficiency and convenience for homebuyers.
Movin Legal, known for its independent panel of conveyancing solicitors, already provides services such as expedited searches, homebuyer protection, and exclusive reward benefits. With this latest integration, brokers using the platform can now access Legal & General’s Digital Home Survey alongside these existing features.
The Digital Home Survey, designed by Legal & General Surveying Services, delivers a comprehensive property assessment in digital format. Conducted by RICS-qualified surveyors, the inspection covers critical areas such as the roof, walls, damp, and timber. Buyers typically receive the completed report within 48 hours of the survey.
A key feature of the survey is its design, which includes a traffic-light grading system and photographs to highlight any defects. Buyers can also discuss the findings with the surveyor before and after the inspection. Additionally, the digital format enables easy information-sharing with tradespeople and allows buyers to obtain quotes for necessary repairs — potentially aiding in negotiations with sellers.
“We have listened to our clients, and home surveys were a key area where they sought additional support,” said Lyndon Whistance (pictured left), chief operating officer at Movin Legal. “By integrating Legal & General’s Digital Home Survey into our platform, we are delivering an innovative, efficient, and valuable solution that enhances the homebuying process.”
Clare Beardmore (pictured right), director of distribution and Mortgage Club at Legal & General Mortgage Services, said the partnership aligns with their commitment to customer-focused solutions.
“We are always seeking partners who value their customers’ needs as much as we do,” she said. “Home surveys are an integral part of the homebuying process, and we are excited that Movin Legal has chosen our Digital Home Survey product to deliver a more intuitive and convenient experience for brokers and their customers.”
