Last chance to nominate for the 2024 NZ Mortgage Awards

Recognition promotes credibility and trust, says ANZ distribution head

Last chance to nominate for the 2024 NZ Mortgage Awards

With two days until nominations for the NZ Mortgage Awards close, a prominent banking industry figure emphasises the importance of recognising high performing mortgage advisers.

As the sponsor of the New Brokerage of the Year Award, Finsure New Zealand recognises the contribution of the new generation of adviser businesses coming through.

The 2024 NZ Mortgage Awards, to be celebrated as a cocktail-style ceremony at the Auckland War Memorial Museum on 11 April 2024, will recognise and celebrate the advisers, BDMS, brokerages, lenders and aggregators who are raising the bar for the industry.

Organised by Key Media and supported by NZ Adviser, Liberty is the event partner for the 2024 NZ Mortgage Awards.  The award sponsors are Avanti Finance, Finsure New Zealand, First Mortgage Trust, Link Financial Group, Pepper Money, Prospa and Resimac.  Basecorp Finance is the associate sponsor.

Winning awards can support new business, says Baden Martin

ANZ Bank New Zealand head of mortgage adviser distribution Baden Martin (pictured above left) said that recognising high performing mortgage advisers through the awards not only celebrates their achievements but also promotes credibility and trust within the industry.

“Winning awards like these often attract clients, showcasing expertise and reliability, and elevate the adviser's standing in the market,” Martin said.

Winning awards such as the NZ Mortgage Awards often attracts clients, giving mortgage advisers the opportunity to showcase their expertise and reliability, and elevates their standing in the market, he said.

“Additionally, they provide motivation to maintain high standards which fosters industry innovation and healthy competition.”

Nominating peers the “biggest compliment” advisers can provide, says aggregator

Finsure New Zealand country manager Jenny Campbell (pictured above right) acknowledged that Kiwis typically shy away from seeking industry recognition or accolades.

Advisers should never underestimate how important it is for the consumer to know that they have been recognised by their peers, she said.

“I could not think of a higher compliment to your peers than to nominate them for an industry award,” Campbell said.

“It’s the biggest compliment you could give to a fellow adviser and it’s a way of uplifting everybody.”

Martin said that ANZ looked forward to participating in the 2024 NZ Mortgage Awards, which would provide an opportunity to network with industry peers and celebrate individual and team accomplishments.

“Industry events such as these provide an important platform for advisers to showcase their expertise, potentially opening doors to new opportunities,” he said.

Nominations to close on Friday

Nominations for the 2024 NZ Mortgage Awards remain open until just before midnight on Friday, Dec. 1.

There are 16 award categories available for nomination. New categories include Innovator of the Year, Loan Administrator of the Year, Lender of the Year (Major/Non-Major Bank), Non-Bank Lender of the Year, Aggregator of the Year and Regional Brokerage of the Year.

Nominations can be placed through the NZMAs website and must be completed by the closing date to be considered as an excellence awardee.

Winners of the 2023 NZ Mortgage Awards, including Ascend Financial Services, Avanti Finance and the Mortgage Girls, say that having their achievements recognised has provided a range of benefits to them personally, and to their business.
