Partnership manager promoted to new role
Broker aggregator AFG has appointed Ross McDougall (pictured) as the new growth manager for Partner Connect, a move that follows the successful introduction of its spot and refer program.
The Partner Connect initiative aims to consolidate all AFG spot and refer programs into a unified offering, providing AFG residential brokers access to a wider range of services and products for their clients.
The program’s foundation partners include Broli Finance, which focuses on asset finance and personal loans; Marketplace Finance, catering to commercial finance needs; and AIA Financial Wellbeing, which provides life and health insurance products along with financial advice.
McDougall, who joined AFG in 2013 as partnership manager in Queensland, will report to Them Lam, head of sales and distribution at AFG, and will continue to be based in Brisbane.
“Partner Connect is a significant value-add opportunity for AFG brokers,” Lam said. “It is only fitting therefore that we appointed a high calibre leader to take this project forward.
“Given Ross’s extensive experience in and knowledge of the mortgage broking industry, it was clear he was the perfect candidate for this important role.”
McDougall expressed enthusiasm for the role and the opportunity it presents to assist brokers in expanding their services beyond the traditional residential mortgage sector.
“Our brokers recognise that their clients’ financial needs extend beyond residential home loans,” he said. “Those customers are looking to their broker as a trusted advisor to fulfill these needs, and Partner Connect allows them to do this.”
Interested brokers can register online for AFG’s Partner Connect program.
