Mortgage brokers from across Australia claim Champion Broker honours as awards tour wrap up in Sydney
Australian Finance Group (AFG) has wrapped up its annual AFG Broker Awards series with the NSW/ACT ceremony in Sydney.
If there were a prize for the busiest trophy cabinet, it would go the to UFinancial team (pictured, scooping up in Melbourne). The brokerage won Champion Group in two regions, South Australia/Northern Territory and Victoria/Tasmania, and its own Daniel Mills was named Champion Broker for Victoria/Tasmania.
The series moved through Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney, honouring top broker groups, leading individual brokers, loan administrators, and industry and community contributors, along with recipients of the AFG Women on the Move Scholarship.
Lender partners were also recognised, in awards voted on by AFG's own mortgage brokers.
"Our broker network continues to set the benchmark for excellence across the industry, helping Australians navigate increasingly complex lending decisions while delivering exceptional client outcomes," said Them Lam, AFG's chief distribution and marketing officer.
Who won AFG's Champion Broker awards in 2026?
The Champion Broker and Champion Group awards represent the top honours in each region. They go to the highest-performing individuals and brokerages in each state.
This year's Champion Broker winners were:
- Brendan Turnbull, Front Row Financial (QLD/Northern NSW)
- Josey Michael, Future Loans (SA/NT)
- Daniel Mills, UFinancial (VIC/TAS)
- Michelle Towner, Towner Finance (WA)
- Janine Wade, Ikaya (NSW/ACT)
The brokerage honours went to:
- Inovayt (QLD/Northern NSW)
- UFinancial (SA/NT and VIC/TAS)
- Mortgage Australia Group (WA)
- Shore Financial (NSW/ACT)
"These awards are an opportunity to celebrate the individuals and businesses that have demonstrated outstanding performance, leadership and commitment to their customers throughout the year," said Lam.
The ceremonies brought together brokers, lender partners and industry representatives from across the country with the aim of celebrating the broker channel and its role in supporting competition and consumer choice in Australian home lending.
"The calibre of this year's winners and finalists highlights the depth of talent across our network and the positive impact brokers continue to have on the lives of Australian borrowers," added Lam.
