ANZ Bank New Zealand welcomes new chief investment officer for ANZ Investments

ANZ Bank New Zealand (ANZ NZ) has announced the appointment of George Crosby (pictured) as the new chief investment officer for ANZ Investments, a private sector fund manager.

“This is an exciting time for George to join ANZ Investments as we continue to explore possible global partnerships that will position us for growth as New Zealand’s largest KiwiSaver provider,” said Fiona Mackenzie, ANZ NZ managing director for funds management.

Who is George Crosby?

Crosby has over 20 years of experience in the investments industry in both New Zealand and the UK. Prior to his new role, he worked at NZ Super Fund as general manager portfolio completion after being the head of portfolio investments from 2008 to 2021. He has also held leadership roles at Longroad Energy, Te Ohu Kaimoana, TD Bank, BNP Paribas, and Westpac.

“George’s extensive investment and leadership experience, including 15 years with the Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation, through the development of their world leading investment approach as well as establishing their portfolio investments team, will be a superb addition to our investment management team,” said Mackenzie.

“It has been a privilege working for Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation investing for future generations of New Zealanders,” said Crosby.

“I am looking forward to joining one of Aotearoa’s largest and most experienced investment teams and helping many more Kiwis with their investment goals,” he said.

Crosby is set to take up his role in early 2024.
