One team takes away championship cup

Marketplace Finance hosts inaugural golf day

Marketplace Finance recently hosted its inaugural golf day, providing the opportunity for lenders and referral partners to network, have fun and hone their golfing skills.

Held on May 8 at Pymble Golf Club on Sydney’s North Shore, a field of golfers, supported by a group of helpful assistants braved the chilly weather for a day out of the office.

Zagga Group was the major sponsor of the event, awarding the winning team with the Zagga Championship Cup. The four hole sponsors were Bendigo Bank, La Trobe Financial, KHI Partners and Secured Lending.

Westpac Group sponsored the lunch, Traders In Purple sponsored the caps worn on the day, and  Mitchell Brandtman was the drink cart sponsor.

Marketplace Finance head of third party relationships Dino Pacella (pictured below) said despite the cold snap that saw the temperature fall to around 17 degrees, there were 68 enthusiastic golfers, comprising 17 teams of four players.

“It was a really enjoyable and engaging golf day with a lot of networking among partners and lenders who are key to our business,” Pacella said.

Along with lenders and referral partners, Pacella said it was great to see solid participation from the Marketplace Finance team, some of whom had flown in from Queensland and Melbourne to attend and support the event.

Pacella congratulated the four people in the winning team, who he said had put in a strong and consistent performance throughout the 18-hole course, as well as the runners-up cup winners.

“It was great to have the opportunity to hand out some fantastic prizes to the well-deserving winners, who gave it their all,” he said.

Pacella also wished to thank the event sponsors.

“The wonderful support received from our partners to Marketplace Finance staff and clients was   terrific and continues to be appreciated throughout our ongoing relationship,” he said.

Additionally, Pacella said that the Marketplace Finance team had played a significant role in the event.  From people working in the office to those on the ground, including relationship managers and directors, they each played a part in making the day “a huge success”, he said.

“It was great to see such strong representation from the Marketplace Finance Team and I thank each of you for your participation and support,” Pacella said. “Along with all of the players and the winners, I also thank the team who provided their assistance on the day to help everything run smoothly.”
