AFG names chief people officer

ASX-listed Australian Finance Group (AFG) has announced the appointment of Rebecca Gravestock (pictured above) as chief people officer.

Gravestock, previously engaged in people advisory and strategy in the private sector, brings more than 20 years of leadership experience, having worked with high-growth public companies and consulting globally with Booz & Co. and PwC.

Gravestock, who holds degrees from the University of Melbourne and La Trobe University, along with an MBA from Melbourne Business School, most recently led people and culture for Australia and Asia at Xero, where she worked for nearly five years.

Gravestock “is a highly accomplished and strategic people leader with a wealth of knowledge and experience that will add value to AFG’s business and employees,” said David Bailey, CEO of AFG.

“[Her] experience in the support and development of high-performance culture and capabilities will make an important contribution to AFG as we continue to focus on supporting our people, executing our strategy, and delivering sustainable value creation for our shareholders,” Bailey said.

“I am looking forward to the opportunity to lead our people in support of AFG's strategy and ambitions at an exciting time in AFG’s growth,” Gravestock said.

Gravestock assumes her role this week and will be based in AFG's Melbourne office, contributing to the company’s strategic goals and reinforcing the executive team’ presence on the east coast.
