AFG Home Loans, Bridgit team up on bridging finance offering

Australian Finance Group (AFG) has added a bridging finance product to its AFG Home Loans range, with AFG Home Loans Bridge now available nationally to AFG brokers.

The white-label product, funded by fintech lender Bridgit, is designed for borrowers who need to purchase a new property before settling the sale of their existing home. AFG says it is suited to upsizers, downsizers, retirees and those seeking to unlock equity during a property transition.

The launch follows data from the June AFG Index showing upgrader lodgements reached a record 44% of total lodgements in the April to June 2026 quarter.

Hayden Cush of AFG"Buying and selling property does not always happen in a neat sequence," said Hayden Cush (pictured right), general manager – white label at AFG. "Many customers find the right next home before their existing property has sold, and they need a finance solution that gives them speed, confidence and flexibility.

"AFG Home Loans Bridge gives brokers another practical option to help customers navigate that transition. It expands the support available under the AFG Home Loans brand and gives brokers a clearer pathway to have broader conversations with customers about their property goals."

Aaron Bassin (pictured right), founder and chief executive of Bridgit, described the partnership with AFG as a significant step forward for the business, saying it would give Bridgit deeper reach into one of Australia's most established broker networks.

"Everything we do at Bridgit is built around giving brokers a solution their clients can trust to Buy Now and Sell Later, with confidence," Bassin said. "That's only possible because of smart, tech-enabled processes that allow us to assess, approve and settle faster.

"Brokers are seeking speed and certainty to help their clients forward without delay and that's exactly what we deliver. We're looking forward to bringing Bridgit to AFG's network of over 4,000 members."
