'Haven' delivers personalised reports using property data and weather insights

Suncorp has launched a new digital tool called Haven, designed to help homeowners assess and manage the risks their properties face from extreme weather events.
Haven combines natural hazard risk data with property-specific insights to generate a tailored report and interactive video experience. The platform, available across Australia, offers homeowners a clearer picture of how exposed their properties are to threats like floods, bushfires, storms, and cyclones, and provides actionable recommendations to improve resilience.
The tool uses a property’s address, house type, age, weather patterns, and historical disaster data to determine risk levels — classified as high, medium, or low. It then creates a downloadable report detailing practical steps owners can take to reduce vulnerability.
According to Suncorp, the product extends its longstanding efforts to educate homeowners about property maintenance and risk awareness. Haven builds upon earlier tools like ‘MyHome,’ which is integrated into Suncorp’s insurance app, and adds broader functionality and reach.
Lisa Harrison (pictured above), Suncorp’s chief executive consumer insurance, said the initiative marks a new phase in the insurer’s resilience strategy.
“Haven is the first of its kind, and a continuation of Suncorp’s commitment to educate homeowners on ways they can improve their home’s resilience to extreme weather,” Harrison said.
The product aligns with the company’s four-point plan for building a more weather-resilient Australia. According to Suncorp data, more than 2.7 million properties across the country face high risks from at least one extreme weather peril. This includes 1.3 million homes vulnerable to bushfires, over 1.5 million at high risk of storm damage, around 40,000 at risk of floods, and 38,000 susceptible to cyclones.
Harrison said the inclusion of property-specific risk data within the tool is intended to make mitigation strategies more relevant.
“We are putting resilience back in the hands of every homeowner in Australia, giving them the insights and tools at their fingertips to make their homes stronger against extreme weather events,” she said.
The technology behind Haven draws on live data feeds from sources such as Google, CoreLogic, and Willy Weather, and is accessible at haven.suncorp.com.au.
