Vella joins non-bank lender as state manager with 10-plus years' experience
Non-bank lender Assetline Capital has appointed Cassandra Vella (pictured) as NSW/ACT state manager, strengthening its distribution across the long-term mortgage and bridging finance markets as broker demand surges.
Vella brings more than a decade of experience from prominent non-bank lenders La Trobe Financial, RedZed and Pepper Money. She will focus on building broker relationships and supporting the expansion of Assetline's Horizon Mortgages and Bridging Loans products throughout NSW and the ACT.
The appointment follows a standout 12 months for Assetline's Horizon Mortgages business, which recorded a 105% year-on-year increase in volumes as brokers increasingly seek flexible lending solutions outside the major banks.
Assetline general manager – distribution and partnerships, Royden D'Vaz, said the hire reflects the lender's commitment to backing its growth with experienced people.
"Cassandra brings deep industry experience, strong broker relationships and a genuine understanding of what brokers need from a lending partner in today's market," D'Vaz said. "We've seen volumes more than double year-on-year, and we're continuing to invest in the right people to support that momentum."
Vella steps into the role vacated by Laura Stanley, who was recently promoted to national director – private lending.
"Assetline has built a strong reputation for being commercial, responsive and easy to work with – which is exactly what brokers are looking for," Vella said. "There is a real opportunity to grow the Horizon Mortgages and Bridging Loans offering across NSW and the ACT, particularly as more brokers seek partners who can provide flexibility and fast decision-making."
Vella'a appointment follows a raft of new hires at Assetline. In March, Laura Stanley and Steven Filler came in as joint heads of the group's Private Lending division to help power its presence in short- to medium-term, bespoke funding solutions across residential and commercial property.
