New community to support advisers and mental health
Loan Market has unveiled its Best Interest Mates Community, an initiative designed to support advisers’ mental well-being and create a sense of unity across its network.
The program provides a safe space for advisers to openly discuss professional and personal challenges while raising awareness and funds for men’s mental health.
“It’s no secret, working as an adviser can be a lonely business – the isolation can be challenging,” said Bruce Patten (pictured above left), Loan Market adviser and president of the new community. “We know that many Kiwi men suffer with depression, stress, and anxiety in silence, so I’m optimistic about what this community can achieve for advisers and the wider cause.”
Launch celebrates mental health awareness and fundraising
The launch coincided with Loan Market’s Movember fundraising events in Auckland and Christchurch, which raised more than $8,000 for the Movember Foundation. The highlight was the auction of a signed All Blacks jersey, which drew a winning $3,000 bid from adviser Ammon Acarapi.
“The events sparked important conversations and created a genuine sense of connection,” Patten said.
Lending partner Prospa also joined the initiative.
“We are honored to support this fantastic initiative,” said managing director Adrienne Begbie (pictured above centre). “It aligns with our mission of empowering small businesses.”
Building a culture of support
Best Interest Mates joins Loan Market’s other successful communities, including Leading Ladies, which empowers women in the network to enhance leadership and business success.
“We’re planning a full calendar of events next year to help advisers connect, build strong relationships, and enjoy genuine camaraderie,” said Nicole Ferguson (pictured above right), Loan Market NZ national director.
