Far out Friday: Hollywood star selling home with the help of Youtube video

A celebrity is starring in her own Youtube video to speed up the sale of her mountain retreat.

Actress Melanie Griffith has starred in a realtor video on Youtube to promote her Aspen mountain retreat after she reduced the asking price by one million dollars, according to an article in the DailyMail UK.

The original price of the property was $9.9 million in June when it was listed for sale but has now been reduced to $8.9 million.

Along with a reduction in price, Griffith decided to help market the property, participating in a promotional video realtors Bowden Properties.

The seven bedroom, eight bathroom get-away was built for privacy and made of three separate buildings on a 12.3 acre estate.

The property is described as 'Refuge. Reserved. Refined. Rare' in the video and has attracted a great deal of attention.

Appearing in a Youtube marketing video is not the usual move for a celebrity but realtor Bob Bowden said, "Melanie was so interested and in love with this property that she was happy to go ahead and lend her name to it and entrust that name to us just so that people could understand what a special place this is."

Griffith is selling the estate as she no longer wants the hassle of maintaining permanent accommodation in the region.
