Developer announces plans for retirement residence to be situated at upscale Ambleside

Premium retirement community to arise in Edmonton
A leading seniors housing developer has unveiled plans and broken ground for Chartwell Wescott, a new retirement residence located in the upscale are of Ambleside, in Windermere, southwest Edmonton.

Chartwell Retirement Residences has announced that the new community, Chartwell Wescott, will be a 3-storey retirement residence. The development will offer 137 spacious suites in an area close to facilities that will best fulfill the needs of Canadian seniors, such as grocery outlets, restaurants, pharmacies, and medical offices.

“Chartwell Wescott will reflect a prairie-style design, complement the surrounding nature and offer a wide-range of amenities to residents,” the developer said in its announcement.

Occupancy is slated for winter 2019, and the retirement complex is predicted to employ a total of 150 professionals.

According to the latest demographic data from Edmonton officials, over 162,000 seniors are residing in the city as of 2016.
