Vice president for residential lending describes how the company improves its service

How important is your track record in the mortgage space?

Due to its high performance in the industry, XMC Mortgage is one of CMP’s 5-Star Mortgage Product awardees this year. Avish Buck, XMC’s vice president for residential lending, says that the company’s success is due to service, which is part of its DNA.

“Focus on delivering exceptional service starts right from the beginning of the mortgage process and goes all across the whole teams, from the BDM to the closing officer,” said Buck. “We like to make sure our team [members] are aligned across all fronts. At the end of the day, I think service is the key to what we do, and we’ll continue to invest in our people and technology to make sure we keep running the best service.”

He says that for a company like XMC, having a proven record of success is important. Being a subsidiary of MCAN Mortgage Corporation, which has been in the residential and commercial real estate market for more than 30 years, strengthens XMC’s ability to offer what its clients need. Buck gives credit to the company’s employees as the main factor in its success. Aside from continuing to invest in its people and systems, XMC aims to further expand its product line and network. XMC focuses on continuous improvement through lean thinking, which means improving the company’s mortgage process for speed and accuracy, as well as providing good solutions to brokers.

“Being a balance sheet lender also gives XMC an edge because it allows us to control the kind of lending we do, where we can be flexible and decide which products or markets to enter based on our needs and not the board’s needs. Last but not least, I would say our stronger partners and the relationship we have with them is what really makes a difference,” Buck said.
