Etobicoke house considered unsafe for entry listed for nearly $1m

A run-down house in Etobicoke that has been deemed “unsafe to enter” went for sale for $999,000 – excluding possible rebuilding costs.

Located at 199 Thirtieth Street in Toronto, the property is in close proximity to Long Branch GO Station, Highway 47, Brown’s Line, and Kipling. The property previously caught fire, hence its “unsafe” designation.

Despite its location in what is considered an “up and coming” residential neighbourhood, the listing by RE/MAX is being sold as land value only, and visits to “walk the land” can only be done by appointment.

As of press time, the listing shows the bedroom and bathroom counts at “0”, and has “no data” regarding square footage. RE/MAX stressed that any buyers and their agents are responsible for verifying all measurements and tax information.

While much crucial data is missing, the “for sale” ad included the “many permitted uses” for would-be buyers, including refurbishment into structures as diverse as an animal shelter, an artist studio, or a police station.
