CMLS Financial reveals executive changes

Leading lender CMLS Financial has announced that effective January 1, 2024, Sam Brown (pictured, left) will be assuming the role of president and chief executive officer of the firm, Intellifi Corporation, and CMLS Asset Management.

The firm also announced that Chris Brossard (pictured, right) will be transitioning to the role of executive chair, while continuing to serve on its board of directors.

“Over the past two decades, under Chris’s visionary leadership, the CMLS Group has evolved into a leading lender, advisor, software, and services provider active across nearly all commercial and single-family residential real estate markets in Canada,” Brown said.

“Chris’s commitment to always prioritizing our people, partners, and clients laid a strong foundation for success as we grew from roughly $500 million in mortgages under administration in 2003 to over $45 billion in 2023, and from a handful of employees to more than 600 over the same period.”

“Sam joined the CMLS Group in 2011 after starting his career with a leading audit, tax, and advisory services company in Vancouver and a real estate private equity manager in London,” Bossard added.

“For the past 13 years, he has held progressively senior roles across the Group, including leadership of our commercial business since 2021 and Group EVP & COO since 2022. At every turn, Sam has built great teams and delivered incredible results.”
