Top law firm's property division registers as separate entity

The real property division of Diamond & Diamond Law Firm will soon operate under the name Property Law Firm as a separate entity, the company said in a statement last week.

“Effective May 28, 2024, the Real Estate Division of Diamond & Diamond Lawyers LLP will become its own separate law firm called The Property Law firm. After 20 years of closing real estate deals, over 80,000 completed transactions, and thousands of 5-star reviews, we are excited to refocus the firm with a name that reflects our purpose,” the announcement, signed by Joseph Berljawsky (pictured) and Michael Clouse (pictured), read.

The announcement also mentioned that Berljawsky, Clouse, Nathaniel Brettle, Ryan MacKay, and the rest of the former real estate division will join the newly established real estate legal firm.

“We will continue to operate in Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia, and are one of Canada’s largest real estate law firms on day one,” the announcement continued.

It added that its primary goal remains “to provide clients and partners with a real estate closing experience that combines the reliable systems of a longstanding, national law firm delivered by a personal lawyer who knows you [clients] by name.”

“With a combination of highly experienced legal professionals and our integrated software platform, Nexera Legal Technologies Inc., The Property Law Firm will continue to set the standard for real estate closings in Canada.

Founded in 2008, Diamond & Diamond is one of the largest law firms in Canada, specializing in personal injury including car accidents, animal bites, sexual assault, and long-term disability cases. Before the creation of The Property Law Firm, it also provided legal support for Canadians in connection with their real estate concerns. According to its website, the firm has more than 65 lawyers all over the country.
