Amit Anand on the fruits of more than two decades of industry experience

Honed by nearly two and a half decades in the industry, Amit Anand, senior mortgage manager at Tribecca Finance, attributed his long-term success to an abiding curiosity in the workings of the mortgage space.

“It was my interest in real estate that steered me in the direction of getting into the mortgage industry,” Anand told MBN. “I was looking at purchasing my first property in the early part of 1996 and as I did my research, I gained a deeper understanding and greater appreciation of what the mortgage industry entailed. As a result, I decided to pursue a career in the industry.”

Having worked at Household Finance starting that year until 2007, Anand cut his teeth in high-level managerial positions. This proved invaluable for his next appointment as manager of underwriting operations in AGF Trust Company – but trouble soon struck.

“During the financial crisis in 2008, AGF Trust went through a major restructuring and as a result my position was eliminated,” Anand said. “My initial reaction was one of disappointment.”

This challenging period did not dissuade Anand from making it big in the industry, however.

“It is often said that as one door closes, another one opens,” Anand said. “Not too long after my time at AGF had ended, I interviewed at a few companies and was successful in securing a position with Tribecca Finance where I have been ever since.”

Anand said he takes pride in his ability to build relationships with broker partners – a skill he has developed to a fine precision through his tenure so far.

“I enjoy working with our broker partners and have built many strong, long-lasting relationships over the years,” Anand said. “Being able to listen and understand the unique needs of clients has allowed me to be successful in providing solutions to meet their financial goals. This gives me great satisfaction.”

Anand also pointed to his long experience as an inimitable component of his success.

“Having been in the mortgage industry for over two decades, I have come across many different situations,” Anand said. “By having exposure to this multitude of mortgage scenarios, I am able to draw upon my years of experience, by thinking outside the box and offer solutions to our broker partners to help meet their client’s needs.”

“My expectations have been exceeded as I have not only built a successful career and love what I do, I also continue to gain satisfaction knowing that I have made a difference in helping people achieve their goal of home ownership.”
