New American Funding has announced that Brigitte Ataya, its senior vice president and regional manager, has been elected to the 2017 Mortgage Action Alliance Steering Committee as an at-large member.
MAA is made up of mortgage professionals and is a voluntary, non-partisan and free nationwide lobbying group. The nine-member steering committee is the grassroots division of the alliance. It is an affiliate of the Mortgage Bankers Association.
"I'm honored to serve MAA,” Ataya said. “Active involvement in the industry is vital to empowering our country. I look forward to the collective impact we'll make on a national level with progressing homeownership for more Americans."
Ataya has more than 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry. She served as team captain for the national mortgage banking company during the last MAA membership drive, working alongside Rick Arvielo, co-founder and CEO of New American Funding.
Lisa Amato, NAF’s senior loan consultant, will also be on the committee as a non-voting member, bringing with her 15 years of experience.
Both will have their first MAA meeting on February 10.
