Arvest Mortgage Co. names new CEO…StoneHill Group hires Northeast business development manager… NAHREP taps Hollywood’s Rick Najera

Arvest Mortgage Co. names new CEO
Steven Plaisance has taken over the role of CEO for both Arvest Mortgage Co. and Central Mortgage Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of Arvest Bank.

Plaisance became president and COO for Arvest Mortgage and Central Mortgage in March 2012, and will retain the role of president for both.

He began his career with Arvest as a part-time teller in Rogers, Arkansas, in 1989. He joined Arvest Mortgage in 1991 and has held a variety of leadership positions since 1996. Plaisance is an active member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and is also the two-time president of the Oklahoma Mortgage Bankers Association.

Arvest Mortgage and Central Mortgage, which have locations in Arkansas and Oklahoma, regularly originate $1 billion-plus in mortgage loans annually, and currently service a combined $38 billion in mortgage loans.

StoneHill Group hires Northeast business development manager
Grant Spurrell has joined The StoneHill Group as business development manager. Spurrell will manage sales and client accounts in the Northeast U.S., including Washington, D.C., Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Maine and Rhode Island.

Most recently, Spurrell built correspondent lending relationships from the ground up at both HomeBridge Funding and IMPAC Lending. As a member of Principal Financial Group’s correspondent lending team, Spurrell was the company’s top ranked sales leader for three straight years.

NAHREP taps Hollywood’s Rick Najera as new media director
The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals has tapped writer, director, actor and author Rick Najera to the newly created position of director of new media and entertainment for the association.

Najera will work on assisting the organization to develop a national touring division that will include live performances of the association’s highly acclaimed theatrical keynote, “53 Million & One”, and his own live production, “Almost White”, based on his fourth and newly-released award-winning memoir.

“NAHREP has been leveraging creative mediums such as theater and video to disseminate its core messages of sustainable homeownership and economic empowerment,” said NAHREP Co-Founder and CEO Gary Acosta. “Rick Najera brings unparalleled talent and experience to the organization. His contributions will vastly elevate the quality and relevance of our communications moving forward.”

He has been a featured speaker addressing diversity in the U.S. for the most prestigious companies, organizations and universities including Google, the World Bank, Stanford University and Harvard University, among others.
