Guild Mortgage’s nonprofit Guild Giving Foundation has awarded 10 academic collegiate scholarships, the company has announced.

The Guild Giving Scholarship Program, which is in its first year, gives financial assistance to qualified community members, Guild employees and their dependents. Scholarship winners are given $1,500 to be applied toward accredited colleges, community colleges, trade schools, and undergraduate or graduate degree programs in any field, according to the company.

To be eligible for the program, applicants must be a US citizen or national, have a minimum grade-point average of 2.5, and meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled full-time in a US high school; have graduated from a US high school or obtained a US GED; or be enrolled full-time as a college student at the undergraduate level with a minimum GPA of 2.5 at the time of application.

“One of the primary missions of the Guild Giving Program is to support financial literacy, and education is a critical component,” said Mary Ann McGarry, Guild Mortgage president and CEO. “We are committed to making an impact in every community we serve, and we are proud to help support the continuing education of these talented individuals.”

Guild Mortgage will accept applications for 2018 Jan. 15-April 15. Applicants must submit a student essay, a statement of career objectives, a letter of reference and their official high school or college transcripts.
