Why real estate professionals should keep learning
Real estate professionals should maintain their formal education in the industry to keep up with their peers, a new study suggests.

An anonymous study of 1,110 real estate professionals asked about continuing education and networking and found that 94% of respondents thought that continuing education in real estate is important (29% said very important).

Surprisingly, the largest reason for continuing education wasn’t to further their career, although 68% of respondents said it was. Eighty-eight percent said that their main reason was curiosity or personal growth.

"Our results indicate these real estate professionals view CE as an effective way to grow as individuals and move their careers forward," said Brian Sholly, executive vice president of real estate at OnCourse Learning. "Study results show more than 90% of real estate professionals seek learning opportunities throughout the year."

Women in real estate are significantly more likely to consider extra learning as important (76%) compared to men (60%).
The study also asked about networking online and discovered that 45% of real estate professionals do so, but professional social network LinkedIn (79%) takes close second place to Facebook (80%) as the top online networking platform. Twitter lags at just 12%.
