New Jersey mortgage banker focuses on consumer direct growth

Princeton Mortgage, the residential mortgage banker backed by a real estate firm with more than 100 years of heritage, is opening a new national call center to help drive its push into the consumer direct market.

The firm which launched as a mortgage brokerage in 1983 recently opened its wholesale division, based in Pittsburgh, PA.

The call center in Charleston, SC will support the aggressive and national growth of Princeton Mortgage’s Consumer Direct Division, which was licensed in June and has already begun originating loans in a few states.

The division is led by Mark Gordon as director of sales. He says Charleston makes sense as a location for the call center.

"As a destination city with an educated workforce and affordable housing. Charleston represented a unique opportunity for us," he explains. "There is a workforce and talent pool here that allows companies to succeed. The population has increased year over year for the past 10 years. More than 34 people per day are still moving into the Charleston area."

The firm plans to employ around 100 people in the next 36 months and will be holding its first Mortgage Loan Originators training class next week.
