An historic Hollywood property has hit the market at the eye-watering price of $180 million.

The Owlwood Mansion was a former home of Sonny & Cher and Tony Curtis is known as the ‘Crown Jewel of Holmby Hills’. The Tuscan-style mansion was built in 1935 for Florence Quinn, former wife of the region’s first property developer Arthur Letts.

The 3,296 estate was the most luxurious in the area at the time, with a price tag of $150,000, and was named Owlwood due to the large number of owls in the grounds’ trees.

According to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com, as well as famous owners, Marilyn Monroe was said to have been living in the estate’s guest house when she was 21.

The main home has nine bedrooms, ten bathrooms and many stately public rooms. Fireplaces, chandeliers, oak paneling and carved moldings are just some of the features that make Owlwood such an impressive residence.

For the $180 million asking price, the new owner will also get to enjoy two guard houses, a pool, pool house, fountains, fruit trees and restored formal gardens.
