Zurich UK Life launches J08 adviser revision webcasts

The support material has been produced in partnership with Patterson Sales Training.

The JO8 revision material is available free of charge from www.zurich4qualifications.co.uk and covers exam techniques and case-studies to test the suitability of advice given to customers.

Before sitting J08, advisers are provided with two case study fact finds which form the basis of the final exam. The revision material provides an analysis the April 2010 fact finds to help guide advisers through them in logical and digestible steps. The analysis includes key questions that should be asked and the need to look at the reliability of customer information provided.

The J08 exam was launched in July 2009 and has been designed to test the suitability of advice to ensure that advisers are properly equipped to make the best financial recommendations to their clients.

J08 is one of the 6 core diploma subjects under the new RDR framework. If passed, the exam is worth 30 diploma credits, compared to 20 for all other diploma subjects, and so is becoming an increasingly popular subject for advisers.

Commenting on the launch, Richard Howells, intermediary sales director, said: "The development of these webcasts in conjunction with Patterson Sales Training underlines our ongoing commitment to supporting advisers as they work towards raising their professional standards ahead of the Retail Distribution Review.

"To date, the webcasts have proved to be extremely popular in the run up to October's exam which indicates advisers are embracing the RDR as an opportunity to improve their professional knowledge and qualifications for the benefit of their clients and their businesses."
