The tips and the quick start guide are now available on www.woolwichintermediaries.co.uk/selfhelphub, and are based on broker feedback about Woolwich's online mortgage application system. Through this feedback, intermediaries indicated that although many were comfortable using the system, others needed some help to use it in the most efficient way and avoid delays to their mortgage decisions.

David Finlay, Woolwich intermediary business director, said: "We take broker feedback very seriously at Woolwich and have a monthly discussion to see what comments are coming back to us. We are pleased that brokers generally seem to like Woolwich and its products. Yet we recognise that there are sticking points too within MAX which can delay mortgage decisions.

But there are many things that brokers can do right now that will automatically overcome many of the problems they may have encountered in the past.
