Wiltshire is Help to Buy capital

Following Wiltshire (528) is Leeds (503), Central Bedfordshire (453), Peterborough (417), Milton Keynes (406) and Bedford (352).

From 1 April 2013 to 31 July 2014 29,829 properties have been purchased with the scheme, with the price averaging £209,390.

The majority of sales were to first-time buyers, representing 85% of total sales.

According to previous data from the Homes and Communities Agency to March 31 2014 the scheme is more commonly used outside London.

The capital saw most cases in Havering (145), Bexley (104) and Bromley (94), although there were no cases in the boroughs of Camden, City of London, Hammersmith and Fulham, Haringey, Kensington and Chelsea, Redbridge, Richmond and Westminster.
