SmartNewHomes.com records high growth for January

Over 400 show home viewings

The SmartNewHomes website is the largest database of individual new homes on the Internet, with properties from over 80 major housebuilders including George Wimpey, Taylor Woodrow, Berkeley Homes, Crest Nicholson and Bovis Homes. In January 2004, the site generated 44,000 quality sales enquiries for housebuilders, with over 400 show home viewings arranged.

Karen Cullis, Marketing Manager at George Wimpey, comments; “SmartNewHomes is now an integral part of our marketing mix and is providing very significant numbers of quality enquiries which convert into tangible sales.

“They are also our number one referrer of website traffic which is increasingly important to us as we broaden the range of customer services offered through our own website.”

David Bexon, Chief Executive of Smart New Homes said: “Housebuilders are increasingly realising the potential of the Internet as a very cost effective method for selling new homes.

“These results show that the SmartNewHomes website is the first port of call for anyone looking to buy a new home on the web. January alone saw over 10,000 plot-specific enquiries, up 110% from the previous year, putting housebuilders directly in contact with the people who want to buy their properties.”

SmartNewHomes.com, launched in March 2001, has also been shortlisted in the Building Awards as Entrepreneurial Company of the Year.
