Prudential selects Focus to enable electronic trading for IFAs

Prudential has integrated components of Focus' XML toolkit, goal:technology, into their IT architecture following a recent substantial investment in a new BEA WebLogicTM platform. goal:technology has enabled Prudential to build, view and manage electronic protection products for deployment on their Adviser website - www.pruifa.co.uk and for the IFA portals. goal:technology will enable independent financial advisers to complete New Business applications online and submit them electronically to Prudential via a portal or directly via the Internet.

goal:technology has enabled Prudential to build a single electronic solution for their Protection offering and through the reuse capability of the technology they plan to launch the product across the IFA portals and www.pruifa.co.uk.

Jon Cross, Head of eBusiness, Prudential commented;

"Providing Advisers with the capability to trade electronically with Prudential is key to our distribution strategy. Using Focus' technology will enable us to reuse our e-commerce solutions across multiple channels including the IFA portals and - pruifa.co.uk, reducing our maintenance costs and centralising content and change control."

John Streets, Chief Executive, Focus Solutions commented;

"Having worked previously with Prudential to build and deploy electronic life, pensions and investment applications for the IFA

portals we are delighted to be working with them again on this new multi-distribution project. Using goal:technology will allow Prudential to extend their original return on investment in electronic trading and enable them to maintain and change their e-commerce solutions in response to both internal and external business requirements."
