Phil Jenks joins Leeds as NED

Fisher and Jenks join the Leeds board which currently consists of three executive directors and six non-executive directors under the leadership of chairman, Robin Smith.

Jenks is currently a specialist adviser to the Housing Finance Select Committee. His previous roles include head of mortgage strategy and development at Halifax Mortgages and chief operating officer of mortgages at Halifax.

Fisher is currently a non-executive director of the Law Society and former chief executive of Sainsbury’s Bank.

His previous roles also include a range of divisional board positions and group HR director at HBOS and HR director at Lloyds Banking Group.

Robin Smith, chairman at Leeds, said: “I am very pleased that Philip is joining the society. He has significant experience of the mortgage market and will play a key role in developing our products and service even further, so that we are able to support many more customers onto the housing ladder.

“David is also an excellent appointment for the Society. He brings a proven track record of success in different business sectors and his skill and expertise will help us to continue to build on our financial strength, and develop our people and products even further so that many more customers can achieve home ownership."
