NatWest and RBS cut rates

From today they'll have trackers from as low as 1.35% and fixed rates from as low as 1.45%. These are the lowest mortgage rates the banks have ever had.

The banks have also reduced the fees on their 60% LTV residential products from £1495 to £995. Plus, they're removing the £750k maximum loan size restrictions - meaning these products will be available to even more customers.

Lastly, they’re reducing the rates on nearly all their buy-to-let products - with some reducing by up to 0.55%.

Lloyd Cochrane, head of mortgages at RBS and NatWest said: “I’m delighted to be able to offer lower rates to customers and some of the lowest rates we’ve ever had.

“We want to continue to help as many customers as possible to buy their home or save money on their mortgage as we play our role in the recovery and the future growth of the UK.”
