Nationwide complaints fall by a third

In April 2015 year-on-year PPI decreased by two thirds (66%) while other cases fell by 1%.

On a half yearly basis complaints have fallen by 18%, with a 29% decrease in PPI complaints and a 14% decrease in other areas.

Alison Robb, group director at Nationwide Building Society, said: “Our members and customers are at the heart of everything we do. Providing them with the very best service is our priority and one we take very seriously, evidenced in the fact that Nationwide continues to be independently ranked number one for customer satisfaction amongst our high street peers.

“We are pleased to see yet again a reduction in the number of customer complaints we received. However, we are not complacent and will continue to seek ways to improve further.”

Major financial service firms provide complaints statistics to the Financial Conduct Authority on a half yearly basis.
