Interbay reshuffles sales team

Three new roles are being created at a National level and each individual will have a specific focus: maintaining and developing the packager business, corporate accounts and intermediary support.

Philip Hargreaves has been appointed national corporate accounts manager, after joining InterBay in March 2006 as a BDM and progressing quickly to regional manager. Prior to this Philip worked for Nat West for 27 years within the Retail Business and Corporate Banking arena as well as the Underwriting and Sales Development teams.

Hargreaves will be responsible for building strategic alliances with High Street Banks, Building Societies and Finance Houses with a view to supporting their key customer expansion and retention goals via our highly competitive true self-cert commercial mortgage programme.

Andy Walters has been appointed national business development manager, after a successful start at InterBay as southern regional manager and 17 years experience as a financial adviser. In his previous role he was responsible for developing the business potential of mortgage intermediaries in the region and making a major contribution to the Business Building Seminars held in the area. He will be looking to build and develop the strong national team of BDMs.

The final appointment is Andy Reid. After joining InterBay Commercial in March 2007, Andy has been promoted to national relationship manager. In this new role, he is responsible for InterBay’s packager panel relationships; ensuring existing packager partners have the support they need, as well as building relationships with new packagers. He will still work closely with my Business Development colleagues in order to provide packagers with top-level service they need, building on current packager relationships as well as developing new contacts. Andy also presents at InterBay’s national programme of commercial seminars.

Andy has twenty years experience in the financial services arena and prior to joining the InterBay Commercial team worked in commercial underwriting, mortgage broking, sales management and insurance broking.

Commenting on the promotions, Colin Bell, director at InterBay Commercial commented: "We are extremely excited to announce these promotions. Over the last few months InterBay has welcomed a growing interest from the packaging market, as well as realising opportunities with our corporate accounts. These new relationships have led us to create specific roles within the sales team so that we can provide the necessary focus to each distribution channel.

“Each of the promotions is much deserved. Banking has always provided individuals with a solid grounding in the financial services sector and Philip Hargreaves brings 27 years’ banking expertise, along with 18 months’ of experience in our business development, to his new role.

“As well as extremely strong sales skills, Andrew Walters brings a professional training and coaching attitude to his work at InterBay. He'll utilise these strengths in his new role to blend a group of individuals into a team where everyone’s input and contribution is maximised, benefiting the intermediaries we work with.

“It is important to us to provide all of our packager partners with dedicated support; Andy Reid brings with him considerable experience in dealing with the intermediary markets and a passion for building sound business relationships, making him the ideal candidate to head up the packager stream of our business."
