HML wins call centre award

Gordon Soutar, chief operating officer at HML, explained: “We are honoured to have been recognised with this award for the work we put in. We demonstrated HML’s charitable heart plus our commitment to sharing and learning and are hugely proud to have won this award.”

The award recognised the work done by HML’s 450 seat call centre which handles up to 13,000 calls per day in Londonderry. The submitted entry highlighted HML’s four year partnership on the Stravaganza project - a multicultural, multidisciplinary arts programme for children, young people and adults, both with and without disabilities, working creatively towards shared artistic goals.

And the charity section focused on HML Londonderry’s contribution of over £36k fundraising from voluntary events run in tandem with Team HML and listing almost 40 charities who have benefited - including Foyle Hospice, NSPCC, Alzheimer's Society and Macmillan Cancer.

The final achievement that was demonstrated was HML Londonderry's participation in BBC's Children in Need extravaganza last year, with over 200 people providing an incoming call centre service, taking pledges of over £1.3m.
