First 2009 award win for British Insurance

This is the firm’s first award of 2009 and follows unrivalled success in the last four months when it picked up seven awards from magazines and consumer websites for its innovative product range and excellent customer service.

Investment International’s awards recognise and commend excellence and innovation within the international finance product range, rewarding both UK and offshore-based businesses.

Readers, comprising business leaders and consumers, voted online for firms in 12 categories and according to editor, Jonathan Ball, the response this year was phenomenal: “We received more than 800 nominations and competitors as well as those purchasing products have a say in who’s chosen. This makes an award win doubling satisfying as winners are nominated by rivals who recognise the strength and quality in an organisation and customers who like the breadth of products and service.”

British Insurance’s Managing Director, Simon Burgess, comments: “What a great start to the year – we’ve always known our customers view our products and service as outstanding, but for our peers to acknowledge this as well is immensely gratifying.

“This illustrates the point I will frequently make this year - consumers can get a better deal from independent firms and they shouldn’t be afraid to source PPI separate from their credit provider.”

The company’s products have a ‘five star’ rating from financial researchers Defaqto who after scrutinising 103 mortgage policies, placed the firm at ‘the very top of the market for its wide-ranging cover and support services’.

British Insurance was identified by Investment International as a ‘clear winner’ which is no surprise given it offers cover for homeowners, those in social housing and people in rented accommodation, plus provides a back to work assistance programme.

Burgess concludes: “Whilst many High Street lenders rely on marketing hype to sell their products, we rely on facts. British Insurance has won more awards than any other PPI provider and has a 100% customer retention rate. We’ve never received a product or service complaint which in my view speaks volumes for our credentials.
