CII exams in an instant

This will allow the CII to offer its multiple choice examinations on demand, with results available instantly, at the City & Guilds network of exam centres in corporate offices, banks and Further Education colleges. Existing CII corporate customers, who do not have their own centre and would like one, will be able to establish an exam centre at their own premises.

Under the terms of the agreement, the CII will offer many new soft skills and management development qualifications covering everything from customer service, sales and marketing to health and safety from City & Guilds’ extensive portfolio of awards. These will complement the CII’s technical insurance, mortgage and financial services qualifications to provide practitioners and firms with a one stop shop for all their competency framework requirements, whatever an individual’s job role.

As part of the agreement CII and City and Guilds will offer management training through the CII Faculties and Societies from supervisory level to middle management. This complements the CII’s joint venture with Cass Business School at the post ACII level to provide an insurance management and leadership MBA; specifically tailored MSc in Insurance and executive and senior executive development programmes.

CII director general Dr Sandy Scott said: “This is a huge step forward for the Institute which will deliver real benefit to our customers. City & Guilds is a highly respected organisation and a leading player in the workforce development arena and will ensure that we provide an extremely professional, secure and market leading service. City & Guilds’ qualifications will attract credits in the CII qualifications structure and we are now able to respond to any financial services companies skills needs.”

Chris Humphries, director general at City & Guilds added: “The insurance and financial services industry comprises a diverse range of professional and administrative employees ranging from customer services to IT support staff who need quick and easy access to different training programmes and qualifications. By working closely with the CII, we will be developing a comprehensive package of services to upskill the insurance and financial services workforce and improve services to CII members.”
