Barclays appoints mortgage service director

Beito will be reporting jointly to Deanna Oppenheimer, Chief Operating Officer, UK Banking, and Mark Parsons, Managing Director, Home Finance.The appointment follows Barclays decision to bring in-house the end to end delivery of its mortgage service. Ms Beito joins Barclays with immediate effect.

A key strategic priority for Barclays UK Retail Bank is the further growth of its UK residential mortgage business, marketed under the Woolwich brand. Mortgage processing is a key enabler of this strategy. Ms Beito, will be responsible for the smooth transition of Barclays mortgage processing operations from outsource provider, Global Home Loans Limited (‘GHL’) and the development and delivery of a streamlined in-house process, focused on customer experience, speed and cost.

Ms Beito has over 31 years banking experience, the last decade at Washington Mutual (WaMu) in the US. During her time at WaMu she ran their loan servicing groups and was responsible for delivery of a 15% reduction in the cost to serve on the WaMu loan book, a substantial year on year reduction in non-interest expense and for the successful conversion of 1.2 million loans onto a single loan servicing platform. She has also run WaMu’s deposit operations and prior to this was Senior Vice President, Group Manager, with responsibility for 300 branches in Northern California. Ms Beito’s most recent role was Executive Vice President, Enterprise Contact Center, responsible for the corporations’ customer contact centres.

Dyan will join Mark Parsons, Managing Director Home Finance, who himself only joined Barclays in September from Price Waterhouse Coopers, as a key player in his executive team.”
