Annual Complinet Compliance Conference

The conference will see the Financial Services Authority and European Commission discuss the regulatory landscape.

Bank and insurance firms with speakers and delegates at the conference include UBS, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, HSBC, Barclays, Citi, and Prudential. International regulatory bodies will also be present, alongside consultants from KPMG, Deloitte and BDO Stoy Hayward.

The conference will review and discuss challenges facing the industry, with the agenda covering the implementation status of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID), Solvency II, Basel II and the Third Money Laundering Directive.

It will cover everything from the effects of the banking crisis to anti-money laundering initiatives; from different regulatory approaches, to the effects of sanctions, data management and customer concerns.

Lyndon Nelson, the FSA's head of risk, will review deadlines and milestones within the UK regulatory landscape, as well as discuss the FSA’s initiative for more principles-based regulation. He will also set out the regulator’s business plan for 2008.
