Aldermore has appointed Roger Evans as head of intermediary distribution from Royal Bank of Scotland Group.

Evans (pictured) worked at NatWest and RBS for 30 years, eventually rising to head of intermediary mortgages and then national sales director for an RBS subsidiary.

Evans will be responsible for relationships with all residential intermediaries and will represent Aldermore across the wider lending market. He will develop and lead both the field and telephone intermediary sales forces.

Charles Haresnape, Aldermore’s group managing director, mortgages, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Roger to Aldermore.

He has a huge amount of invaluable experience that will complement the work that we as a specialist lender continue to do.”

Evans lives in the North West and is a lifelong Manchester United fan and season ticket holder.

He said: “It’s a great time and opportunity to be joining Aldermore.

“Over the past seven years, they’ve developed an excellent reputation across the industry and wider broker market. I’m looking forward to this role and the challenges over the coming years.”
