1,500 DEAs registered for EPC Exchange

The system from Xit2 distributes instructions for the production of EPCs, crucial now Home Information Packs (HIPs) are mandatory for three and four bedroom homes.

The EPC Exchange enables HIP providers to issue EPC instructions to qualified DEAs through a convenient web based interface. The certificate will advise consumers on which energy measures - ranging from thicker loft insulation right through to solar panels - could cut carbon emissions from their home and improve their energy rating.

David Ford, director at XIT2 said: “The roll-out of HIPs to include three bedroom homes will put pressure on qualified DEAs to have this crucial element of the Pack produced quickly and efficiently. The role of the DEA will be highly itinerant and so another feature of the exchange is that it help them complete as much of the job as possible whilst out on the road.

“Using the exchange enables EPC instructions to be sent directly to the new breed of DEAs who will manage the process using the latest mobile devices.”
